TE Zach Ertz 2019 Fantasy Outlook

#3 TE Zach Ertz 2019 Fantasy Outlook

Zach Ertz (Eagles)

6'5, 250 lbs

Last season Zach Ertz set the NFL record for targets by a tight end with a massive total of 156. While he is one of the best tight ends in the league, it's going to be hard to match last year's stat line of 116 receptions for 1163 yards and 8 TDs.

The Eagles brought back Desean Jackson and drafted red zone/ jump-ball specialist J.J. Arcega-Whiteside in the second round of the draft. Philadelphia also has second-year stud tight end Dallas Goedert who is going to soak up his share of targets. When you consider Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor into the equation it's going to be hard for any one player to dominate consistently.

Ertz is still going to be a top tight end, but not like he was in 2018. If Carson Wentz can stay healthy this should be a good offense that put up some points, and Ertz has a safe floor, but I think he just had the best year he will ever have.

I would pass on the 3rd of the "big 3" and get and Engram or Howard a few rounds later. Ertz is a great player, but you should let others draft him with a top 30 pick. His average draft position is too high.
