Maryland native Amani Miles, Head Football Equipment Manager, who celebrated her 23rd birthday in January, tragically passed away on January 21st, 2025. The cause of death is unknown to date.

Amani Miles attended Bowie State University from 2020 to 2024, where she studied Business Administration with a focus on Marketing.
At the university, she was the Head Football Equipment Manager and actively participated in student organizations, including the Bowie State Circle K International and the Bowie State Cab Street Team.
Amani Miles’s Sisters And Stepfather Mourn Her Loss
Amani Miles was born to her mother, Zakiyyah Blackwood, who died on September 30th, 2023, at 47.
Zakiyyah Blackwood was hospitalized due to an illness before she took her last breath.
Her funeral services were held at Ronald Taylor II Funeral Home, 1722 N. Capitol St. NW, Washington, D.C.
In 2018, Zakiyyah remarried Elton Scott, who worked in housekeeping at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
All three of her daughters-Emoni, Amani, and Diala, were present at the wedding to support their mother.
Amani was the middle child, with an older sister, Emoni, and a younger sister, Diala Miles.
She had a cordial relationship with her stepfather, Elton Scott. He expressed his support and pride by commenting on her Bowie State Bulldogs graduation pictures in December 2024.
Just a few weeks ago, her cousin, David Miles, shared her graduation photo on Facebook, celebrating her achievement.
Now, he’s expressing his heartfelt condolences after her passing.

From her role as an equipment manager to proudly graduating in Business Marketing in Fall 2024, Amani made a lasting impact that would never fade.
