Chubba started playing football for Perry High School in Gilbert, Arizona.
He committed to playing college football for Louisville on June 21, 2019, but flipped his commitment to Florida State on December 18, 2019.

He announced that he would transfer to San Jose State on January 15, 2024, but he committed to playing football in Nevada on January 22, 2024.
