Morganton Coach Robert Crawley Died At 63 During A Medical Procedure

As per the reports, football coach Robert Crawley passed away in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Robert Crawley was originally from Glen Alpine, North Carolina, but lived with his family in Morganton, North Carolina.

Coach Robert Crawley Died Following A Medical Procedure

According to various sources, Robert Crawley, born on May 5, 1961, passed away on January 14, 2025, at the age of 63, during a medical procedure in Charlotte, North Carolina.

However, it has not been revealed which disease Robert was suffering from.

His tragic passing has left a deep sadness in the hearts of his family, friends, former students, athletes, and the entire Morganton community.

It is with profound sadness and a broken heart that we inform you of the passing of our lifelong friend, brother and local legend, Coach Robert Crawley. Robert passed away this afternoon following a medical procedure in Charlotte.

Moreover, Robert’s sister, Terri Miller Waters, also posted the news of his passing. She wrote,

It is with such a heavy heavy heart that his sweetie, Teresa Hamrick and I share that my brother and her sweetie, Bobby (Robert Crawley) is now walking the streets of Heaven with his mom, dad, my daddy and all the others gone before us. If we know anything, it is he was ready to meet his Lord. We will miss him terribly – and we know all of you will as well. Please keep us in your prayers.

We were playing against Alexander Central and I was on fire that night and I made a tackle but the announcer didn’t say my name on the tackle. Crawley over heard me talking about it and sat me out until 3rd quarter. He comes over to me and says “Son your name being called should be last thing on your mind you not focused, don’t you ever think you are bigger than the game”. Fast forward up till this day this man has still been there for me as a coach as friend. We will miss you coach Robert Crawley

As per Robert’s family, his life will be celebrated on Saturday, January 20, 2025, at 11:00 am at Morganton First United Methodist Church, located at 1234 Church Street, Morganton, North Carolina.

The service will be open to all who wish to honor his memory, with a visitation from 9:30 am to 10:45 am.

Follwing the service, the family invited everyone to join them for a reception at the church hall to share stories, offer condolences, and celebrate the incredible life Robert led.

Moreover, the family announced that donations to the Robert Crawley Memorial Fund will support local youth sports programs in Morganton, carrying on Robert’s passion for athletics and community involvement.
