LSU freshman quarterback Colin Hurley was hospitalized with injuries sustained in a car wreck near the Baton Rouge campus early Thursday morning.

Officials found Hurley unresponsive in a Dodge Charger after he crashed into a tree near the south gates of the LSU campus around 2:45 a.m., according to a crash report obtained by WBRZ.
Hurley was breathing when firefighters pulled him out of the car, but he was in and out of consciousness and had a large court on his face.
Officials told WBRZ they do not suspect impairment was a factor in the crash, though they have yet to release a cause.
LSU school officials cannot comment on Hurley’s medical status because of his minor status.
Hurley joined the LSU program in 2024 as a true freshman, signing with the Tigers as a four-star recruit and the No. 22 signal in his class.
The Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian Academy product served as Garrett Nussmeier’s backup this year. He did not play in a game during his debut season on campus.
Hurley reclassified at the end of high school to join the Tigers a year early.
He was 16 when he enrolled at LSU last January. The multiple-time Florida state champion was initially a member of the 2025 recruiting class.

Colin Hurley, 17, was born in 2008 in Jacksonville, Florida, to his father, Charlie Hurley and Marion Hurley.
His father, Charlie Hurley, is a US Marine, and his mother, Marion, is an active member of the US Army.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Marion is a distinguished military leader with over 27 years of experience in acquisitions, operations, and resource management in the United States Air Force and Army.
Marion studied Human Resources Management and Services and Associate of Arts at the Community College of the Air Force from 1996 to 1998.
She attended Excelsior University from 1999 to 2003 and later completed his Master’s from the University of Phoenix.
Marion has been a corporate trainer at LegalShield Independent Associate since September 2013.
Since August 2024, she has been a business advisor at Arlington National Cemetry.
In addition, she is a part-time board member of Victory for Veterans, Inc.
On the other hand, Colin shares a strong bond with his father, Charlie. During one of the interviews, Charlie talked about his son’s long-term outcome. He said,

According to LSU school officials, Colin’s parents were on their way to Baton Rouge from their home in Jacksonville when the incident occurred.
His parents requested that fans and followers pray for Colin’s speedy recovery so that he can return to the field.
