For those of you have that have been followers for awhile, I am so sorry to say, Brooke Powell, one of the cofounders of Meeting Place Equine, has passed from a car wreck. She was the inspiration and open gateway for many local young ones to start their horse addictions and had a passion for making horse-related activities accessible. She fiercely defended those that had been ‘othered’ in the horse community. RIP Brooke, I hope you find your peace. Please make arrangements for those in your care, give everyone extra love, don’t wait to find your happy.

Shadow Ridge Riding Academy also took to their Facebook and poured a tribute by stating,
Just received the news that my friend and horse mentor passed away last night in a car accident. It does not seem real. She was scheduled to come for another clinic this spring. She has helped so many develop as riders but more importantly as an equestrian! The world has lost an amazing woman and equestrian! I hope I have a tenth of the knowledge she has on biomechanics of both horse and rider. We both shared the passion of helping everyone have the opportunity to become a horse obsessed person! I will carry that torch @independentlyequine Brooke Powell will be missed by so many.
