John Morozin, a highly respected Baltimore police officer and skilled martial artist, passed away unexpectedly at 55 while practicing Jiu-Jitsu.
Morozin, lovingly referred to as “Big John” by some, attended Penn State University before embarking on his career in law enforcement.

Friends And Family Mourn The Loss Of John Morozin
A friend of Morozin, Sherille Whyte, expressed how difficult the past month has been, saying she was heartbroken and still in shock over the news.
She shared that it felt unreal and that she had been mentally processing the loss.
On February 1st, she received the devastating news that her good friend of over 10 years had passed away suddenly and unexpectedly.
She paid tribute to Morozin, calling him a former lieutenant, coach, and friend, and said he would be greatly missed.
Also, Clinton Craddock recalled meeting John, a young officer with the Colwyn Police Department, who was still finding his way in the field.
From the start, John took him under his wing, like a big brother.
Clinton remembered John’s love for training well, noting how he would always invite him to train together.
While Clinton joked about being outmatched, he recognized that John was always striving to improve, pushing himself and everyone around him to improve.

John Morozin was born on August 28, 1969, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Vincent and Patricia Morozin.
He attended Penn State University and later worked alongside his father, driving trucks.
John is survived by his wife, Mercedes Morozin, parents, sister, Jennifer, and her husband, Michael.
He is also remembered by his 14 nieces and nephews and many aunts and uncles from both sides of the family.
Family and friends are invited to gather with John’s family on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the start of his Funeral Service at noon at St. Vincent DePaul Church, 654 Hatboro Rd, Richboro, PA 18954.
