“(Seattle was) going with PFF”s higher and second-highest graded coverage linebackers…but there’s a reason Mike Macdonald looked at the tape and said ‘he’s the problem, we’re cutting him…’ Then you trade Jerome Baker to get a linebacker you wanted. So that was $11 million dollars that you spent on linebackers to replace Bobby Wagner that are no longer on the roster nine games into the season…It was really frustrating (this past offseason) and it’s even more frustrating now because you’re basically conceding that you made mistakes.”

During his time with the Seahawks, Sherman was part of the “Legion of Boom” defense, the secondary that led the NFL in pass defense in 2013 and 2014.
It helped the Seahawks win Super Bowl XLVIII. Their 43-8 win over the Denver Broncos matched the third-most significant margin of victory in the Super Bowl’s history.
Moreover, they led the league in scoring defense for three straight years between 2012 and 2015, the first team to do so since the 1950s Cleveland Browns.
After playing with the Seahawks, he played for the San Francisco 49ers for three seasons, where he made his third Super Bowl appearance in Super Bowl LIV, and spent one season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Richard Sherman’s father, Kevin Sherman, spent 26 years working for the Los Angeles Sanitation Department.
Kevin, the son of a mason, was interested in building, rebuilding, and repairing machinery and devices.
He used to wake up at 3:45 A.M. each morning to get to work hauling waste in Los Angeles. Once, he cut a holiday visit with his son short to make it to work on time the next day.
Sherman attended the Super Bowl but flew out the following day to be in Los Angeles on time for work. He recounted the three decades of work in an interview,
“It’s not as tough as it used to be. We used to hand-load. We used literally pick up the cans and dump them. Now, it’s gotten a little easier.”

Kevin has said one of his proudest moments was when Richard graduated from Stanford University. He added,
“Football and all that’s fun, but education is always first,” said Sherman. “I didn’t want them to become adults and have a past that haunts them all the way through the rest of their life … like me.”

As a teenager, Kevin was shot three times. He lost his right eye as a 14-year-old when the go-kart he was building blew up in his face. Later, his pickup truck was also hit by a train.

According to Richard Sherman’s mother, Beverly Sherman, the official Facebook handle, she is from Los Angeles, California, and studied medical office management at the Bryman School in 1983.
Beverly was the former Los Angeles County Public Health Services Senior Clerk from 1984 to 2015.
Later, she worked at California Children’s Services for 32 years, where she co-operated with the families of children with severe medical and disabling conditions.
She married her husband, Kevin Sherman, on February 14, 1987. On May 9, 2021, she made her own touchdown as a debut author and published a book titled “Just Love No One’s Perfect.”
