Matt Barnes And His Ex-Wife Gloria Govan Recently Settled $250K Child Support Case

Matt Barnes and his ex-wife Gloria Govan divorced in 2016. The former couple was married from August 2013 to December 2016.

The former couple had twin sons, Carter and Isaiah, together. They separated in 2014 and had a long battle for child custody of their twins.

Their divorce was finally settled in 2016, with Matt agreeing to pay child support.

However, Gloria accused Matt of owing over $250,000 in unpaid support for their twin sons.

As reported by In Touch Weekly, court documents reveal that Gloria agreed to dismiss the case in exchange for Matt paying her $275,000 to cover all outstanding payments.

The ex-NBA player agreed to pay $100,000 within five business days and the remaining $175,000 within 60 days.

A $25,000 penalty would also apply if payments were more than 10 days late. He also covered Govan’s $25,000 attorney fees.

In December 2023, Gloria sued Matt, claiming that he refused to pay the full $10,000 a month in support he was ordered to pay.

She said Matt owed her over $260,000 in back child support at the time of her filing, as he had decided to reduce the $10,000 a month payments to $4,000 in 2020 without any agreement between the two.

Furthermore, in 2022, Barnes sued Govan over unpaid legal fees related to their divorce.

At that time, the law firm Brot, Gross & Fishbein filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court, claiming they were owed $187,452.84 in unpaid fees.
