Rey Misterio Sr., the legendary wrestler, has passed away. His real name was Miguel Angel Lopez Dias, and he was the uncle of current WWE star Rey Mysterio.

He became widely known as Rey Mysterio Snr to avoid confusion with his nephew.
His grandson, Dominik Mysterio, and grandniece, Aalyah, have also appeared in WWE.
In the wake of his father’s passing, Rey Mysterio Jnr. posted a touching tribute on Instagram:
“You taught us what it means to love and be a strong father and husband. You set the bar high and lived your life with grace and strength until the very end. You were an amazing husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and father-in-law. I picked up so many qualities from you. You fought so hard until the end, and I know your biggest fear was leaving Mom behind. But rest assured, we will always be there for her. Now you’re with God, watching over us, and we will keep moving forward until the day we see you again. You will always be loved and never forgotten. Rest in peace, Pops.”
