Cody Rhodes Speaks Out: Addresses the Attack by Kevin Owens at Bad Blood

The feud between Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes is reaching new heights!

Following the thrilling Bad Blood event in Atlanta last Sunday, WWE took a new approach to the growing rivalry between WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens.

After WWE Bad Blood ended that night, tensions were already high between them. Both wrestlers had been vying for the WWE Championship, leading to a highly competitive and intense atmosphere.

Highlights

  • Kevin Owens attacked Cody Rhodes in the parking lot after the Bad Blood on 6 October 2024.
  • Fans captured and shared the video of the incident. Triple H said it would be handled internally.
  • Cody Rhodes addressed the attack and acknowledged the competitive nature of the industry and the desire for the WWE Championship.

“KO” Kevin Owens was spotted attacking “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes in the parking lot after WWE Bad Blood.

For months, the two wrestlers have fought side-by-side against Roman Reigns’ and Solo Sikoa’s factions of The Bloodline.

They also faced each other at August’s Bash In Berlin for the WWE Championship. Despite rumors that Owens might betray Rhodes, they surprised everyone by embracing at the end of that night.

However, it seems their relationship hit a breaking point when Rhodes teamed up with Roman Reigns at Bad Blood.

Fans in Atlanta captured footage of the “Prizefighter” arguing with Rhodes by his bus. He then punched and continued hitting while Cody was on the ground.

Owens even threw a garbage can at Rhodes before security guards came. WWE didn’t release any official footage of the incident, leaving it to fans to capture and share the moment online.

Triple H, the boss of Kevin and Cody, commented on the situation, saying that it would be handled internally.

Cody Rhodes Addressed The Attack

Rhodes finally addressed the attack while speaking with Manchester Evening News. He expressed disappointment in Owens’ actions.

"I would be foolish to try and tell you anything different because the entire video exists online and you can see every inch of it. I'll try and keep my remarks short in terms of how I feel but I will tell you this."

He added that it’s a very passionate industry, where everyone aims for the north star, the WWE Championship, which he currently holds.

The wrestler mentioned that he isn’t sure if this will unfold on screens, on SmackDown, on Raw, or during their overseas events.

"Pro Wrestling and sports entertainment tends to like dive into that. Perhaps it does, or perhaps its dealt internally. I overall, I did feel very happy about my match at Bad Blood. I was happy for the city of Atlanta, that being the city that raised me."

Finally, he expressed his happiness for Atlanta and WWE, adding that it felt like the road to WrestleMania started early this year.

Additional Information

  • Kevin Owens continued to show his aggressive behavior. He recently attacked Randy Orton backstage.
  • Owens was banned from WWE SmackDown. Despite this, he appeared at the event and tried to explain himself.
  • Reports suggest that the attack was done to create viral buzz for the ongoing Rhodes-Owens storyline and it is working as planned.
