Weston Paszkiewicz Passed Away While Watching a Hockey Game, his Parents Say He Is Now Cancer Free

Gone Too Soon!

Weston Paszkiewicz passed away on November 18 while watching the hockey game surrounded by his loved ones, including his loving parents, John and Danielle.

Weston Paszkiewicz was a 10-year-old boy from Long Lake, Minnesota. He was a die-hard hockey fan, especially of the Minnesota Wild.

Earlier in 2025, Weston was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a serious form of blood cancer.

Following his battle against cancer, Make-A-Wish Foundation fulfilled Weston’s dream: he signed a one-day contract with the Minnesota Wild.

On that day, he toured the team’s locker room, skated alongside them, and even carried the Wild flag during a game.

He also pulled a fun prank with former goalie Marc-Andre Fleury.

Weston Paszkiewicz’s Parents Watched Their Son Leave the World While Watching Hockey!

Weston passed away on the evening of November 18, 2025, while watching a hockey game with his family.

His parents confirmed his passing through a CaringBridge post. In the post, his mother shared detailed information about her son’s passing, saying;

Our hearts are heavy as we write this update. We sadly share that Weston passed away this evening at 7:40 pm. He has completed his battle with cancer and as our kids say, is now cancer free! He was surrounded by his family and passed peacefully while watching a hockey game believe it or not.

While not much personal information about his parents has been disclosed, it is believed that his parents, John and Danielle, were very supportive.

According to Weston’s father, John’s Facebook profile, he appears to be involved in U.S. government service work.

On the other hand, not much is known about his mother, Danielle.

Despite limited information about his parents, Weston was known by many as a young inspiration, loving and kind.

Following his passing, the Minnesota Wild also expressed their grief, saying:

“We are devastated to learn of Weston’s passing. He was such a courageous young man that will be greatly missed by everyone that had the opportunity to know him. Our hearts are with his family and friends, and all those that were impacted by Weston’s brave fight. Please join us in leaving a hockey stick out for Weston tonight.”

Weston’s passing has not just brought grief to the Paszkiewicz family, but the whole hockey club and community seem to be mourning.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Paszkiewicz family, friends, and all the well-wishers.

Rest in Peace, Young Soul!
