Five keys to the game for when the Vikings play the Packers this weekend.
Vikings vs Packers
In Week 16 Aaron Rodgers dialed up 202 yards, 3 TDs, and a 115.1 QBR. That stat line pumped him up to 33 TDs, 4 INTs, and a 110.8 QBR on the season. It's nice when your QB is an MVP front-runner.
Kirk Cousins is a game manager. The exception is when he sees Justin Jefferson anywhere on the field in which case he just tosses the rock. Stop Jefferson you've stopped Cousins. Good luck with that.
Week 16 was another day at the office for Davante Adams. 13 targets, 10 receptions, 114 yds, 2 TDs, and the W. Everybody in the stadium knows Rodgers is looking for Adams. He still gets open.
Dalvin Cook missed week 16 while on the COVID list. That was a huge factor against the Rams. Cook is back and so is the Vikings' ground attack.
The Packers OLine does a fantastic job protecting Rodgers. They gave up zero sacks last week. The Vikings D is tied for 2nd in the league with 44 sacks and 8th in QB pressures. Somethings gonna give.
Strength v Strength
Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon are complimentary backs who can score and move the chains. The Vikings are absolutely horrid against the run. Aaron Rodgers is not against taking the day off and letting the running game work it out.
It's being announced Vikings' unvaccinated QB Kirk Cousins has been placed on the COVID-19 list and will not be playing against the Packers this weekend. QB2 Sean Mannion was activated from the list Friday.
