It has been over seven months since the former football player bid farewell. While the authorities said there was no suspected foul play, but they have also not revealed the exact cause of the former Miami Dolphins cornerback.

A few days after Vontae Davis’ passing, authorities released the 911 tapes from his personal assistant after she found him unresponsive in his Florida home.
Local authorities reported that Davis’ personal assistant made the initial 911 call after a woman in the house found Davis unresponsive in the gym area.
According to the NY Post, the assistant told 911, “She arrived and found him on the ground. She froze and called me, unable to speak, so I made the call.”
She also mentioned that the last time she saw him was on 29 March 2024, and one of the drivers saw him on 30 March.
Portions of the conversation with the woman who found Davis were edited and reduced before the tapes were publicly released.
Vontae Davis’ Autopsy Was Completed Just A Few Days After His Passing
As reported by RaderOnline, the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office completed his autopsy by 3 April 2024.
However, the office stated that the NFL star’s passing reason would be determined upon further forensic testing.
The forensic testing was expected to take three weeks to a month to complete and compile the results into a report.
Although it was reported that the report would be public within a month, neither the authorities nor any of the late NFL player’s family members have shared the autopsy and forensic test reports yet.
Also, there has been no official statement addressing the reasons for the delay or providing any updates on the progress of the forensic testing.
Vernon Davis Said His Brother Might Have Slipped Or Collapsed
Soon after the passing of Vontae, his older brother, Vernon Davis shared that “he may have collapsed or slipped moments after he stepped out of a sauna.”
However, Vernon noted that authorities still don’t have an official cause of de-th.
“There likely won’t be one for at least another month, as police continue to investigate,” he added.
"I'm leaning on the detectives to figure it out, but right now we have no answers. They are going to run tests and they said they'll get back to us. It could be as long as a month, a month and a half, until we know anything." Vernon Davis
On the other hand, Vontae Davis’ ex-wife, Megan Harpe, mentioned to the Daily Mail that CTE might have played a role in Vontae’s passing.
However, Vernon was not ready to accept this theory. He explained that it was impossible to determine brain conditions while someone is alive and said that Vontae never had a history of drug use.
Vernon also added that his brother was a hard worker who had managed their difficult upbringing successfully.
Furthermore, while speaking with CBS Sports in September 2024, Vontae Davis’ brother, Vernon Davis, mentioned that he felt as if his brother was still out there somewhere and hoped to reunite with him one day.
Vernon also described Vontae as his best friend and someone who meant everything to him.
