UFC 309: Jon Jones Fiance Jessie Moses Was Reluctant To Discuss Alleged Beating By Him In Front Of Their Kids

Jon Jones made history by becoming the youngest champion in UFC history when he won the Light Heavyweight title from Maurício "Shogun" Rua at just 23 years old.

People are bringing up Jon Jones’ past, saying that he’s someone who could hurt his wife but is supposedly afraid to face the interim champ.

Jon Jones defended his UFC heavyweight title with a spectacular win over Stipe Miocic on 16 November at Madison Square Garden.

Highlights

  • People are questioning Jon Jones’ actions, asking if he acknowledged Jesus Christ after beating his fiance, Jessie Moses.
  • A security guard at Caesars Palace later recounted that Jessie Moses went to the front desk asking for a room key, visibly upset and with blood on her clothes.
  • Moses and their children were then taken to a security office for safety. One of their children even asked if the police could be called.

Jones landed a flawless spinning back kick in the third round that sent Miocic to the canvas.

After the fight, the 37-year-old champion, Jones, clarified he wasn’t ready to retire.

He left the door open for potential matchups with rising star Tom Aspinall or current light heavyweight champ Alex Pereira.

At the same time, some people are questioning Jon Jones’ actions, asking if he acknowledged Jesus Christ after incidents like when he was involved in a hit-and-run with a pregnant woman or the accusations surrounding his personal life.

They wonder if he’s using his faith to justify these past behaviors.

Did Jon Jones acknowledge Jesus for when he beat his wife? When he did a hit and run on a pregnant woman? Did Jon do this all in the name of Jesus Christ?

Once, Jon Jones Was Taken In Custody For Beating His Fiance, Jessie Moses

Well, in September 2021, Jon Jones was arrested in Las Vegas on charges of domestic violence and property damage.

The incident occurred at Caesars Palace Hotel, where he was accused of assaulting his fiancée, Jessie Moses, in front of their children.

A security guard at Caesars Palace later recounted that Jessie Moses went to the front desk asking for a room key, visibly upset and with blood on her clothes.

When the guard asked if she was okay, she started crying and said she felt unsafe returning to her room.

Moses and their children were then taken to a security office for safety. One of their children even asked if the police could be called.

When police interviewed Moses, they asked if Jones had physically assaulted her.

She hesitated, saying,

“Ummm, not too physical but a little bit yeah.”

The police report noted that Moses had blood on her clothes and a noticeable bump with dried blood on her lip. When asked about her lip, she claimed it was just dry.

Also, the police observed that Moses seemed terrified to talk about Jones.

Later, when they entered the hotel room where the incident occurred, they found blood on the bed sheets and shoes scattered around.

While the charges were initially not dropped because Moses had denied the abuse, they were eventually dropped as part of a plea deal where Jones admitted guilt to a lesser charge.

Upon hearing the news, some people reacted with sarcasm, pointing out that Jon Jones has been far from a model citizen since rising to fame.

Others pointed out how ESPN and the UFC focus on Jon Jones’ troubled past, mentioning his issues with cocaine and the hit-and-run incident but leaving out key details.

They noted that what’s often left unsaid includes the allegations of him assaulting his wife in front of their daughters, his four failed drug tests for performance-enhancing drugs, the pregnant woman he left with broken bones in the hit-and-run, and his threats against a USADA official.

  • As 2024, he is ranked #3 in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings and is widely considered one of history’s greatest mixed martial artists.
