They Called My Daughter a Bully, But After His Daughter—Who I Once Coached in Softball—Threw a Rock and He Yelled at My Child-Haslet, Texas Parents

Seem like there is an issue from both side!

A week ago, a parent from Haslet, Texas, Matthew Moon, shared a Facebook post claiming that the softball player’s parents allowed their daughter to bully his child.

According to the post, a private dispute between two families blew up online after one parent accused another parent’s daughter of bullying.

The accused girl’s parent says the post left out key facts and caused an unfair and one-sided backlash.

Haslet, Texas, Parents Accuse Their Softball Student’s Parent of Blaming Their Daughter as a Bully

In the post, Father Matthew explains that the situation began when the other parent accused his eleven-year-old daughter of bullying.

He says the truth is that his daughter only had a private conversation with a friend about no longer being close.

She never told anyone to avoid the other girl. He describes his daughter as shy, respectful, and kind.

After talking with her, he told her to apologize for any misunderstanding and reminded her to be thoughtful about who she shares her frustrations with.

The conflict escalated during after-school pickup when his youngest daughter came to him upset and said the other parent had yelled at her.

A teacher who witnessed the altercation approached the girl, checked to make sure she was okay, and later filed a report with the school.

The father says he was not involved in that decision and only learned about it afterward.

Matthew believes no adult should ever confront a child about a situation they were not part of.

He also says the proper way to handle problems between kids is for adults to speak directly with each other.

The situation got worse when the other parent’s daughter had previously thrown a rock at his daughter.

He was disappointed, but he did not hold any anger toward the child.

Matthew had coached her in softball and had grown to like her a lot. He looked for her father at practice to talk about it, but never got the chance.

He says his family has been comfortable keeping distance, but believes they were dragged into unnecessary drama again.

Because the accusations were posted without context, he felt compelled to share the full story to protect his children and correct misinformation.
