The Wilson Brothers Carson And Skylar’s Athletic Dreams Shattered By Car Accident In Groton

Chris and Sterna Wilson have four children-Skylar, Carson, Bella, and Bennett.

In the Mystic area of Groton, a vehicle crashed into a tree, leaving a promising high school athlete, Skylar Wilson, along with his younger brother, Carson Wilson, in tragedy.

According to police, the crash involved only a 2012 Toyota 4Runner, and all four people inside were trapped.

Emergency crews worked to free them and provided treatment at the scene. All four were in critical condition when they arrived at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital.

A fundraiser is being organized for Chris and Sterna Wilson after the devastating car accident on October 14, 2024, that left their sons, Carson and Skylar, with severe injuries.

Unfortunately, Carson did not make it, and Skylar is still in critical condition.

The fundraising event organizer spoke briefly with Sterna and Chris this evening. Skylar is still in critical condition and will require multiple surgeries.

Their youngest son, Bennett, and daughter, Bella, are cared for by family friends.

Carson Played Football, While Sky Excelled In Wresting, Football And Lacrosse

Fitch High School Boys Lacrosse shared that Sky is a crucial team member fighting for his life, while Carson was a big cheerleader for the team last season.

Also, the Stonington Bears Youth Football League requested donations to help a former Bears family (the Wilson family). They were grateful to have Carson play with them on the senior team last year.

The superintendent of Groton Public Schools released a statement about the crash, noting that he was made aware of the automobile accident involving high school students on Fishtown Road.

He mentioned that while none of them are currently enrolled, they are all former students and important members of the Groton Community.

As per the mother, Sterna Otto Wilson, the eldest son, Sky has made impressive strides as a freshman, lettering in three sports: wrestling, football, and lacrosse.

He has also been honored with academic awards in both English and Algebra.

Similarly, Carson Wilson was part of the Groton/Mystic football team for five years.

The father, Chris Wilson, often shared videos about how Carson made impressive plays in school football, tackling opponents and scoring points.

Carson was a great player, wonderful teammate and good friend. I am so sorry for this tragic and tremendous loss.

Additionally, he was thrilled to share that Skylar was receiving mentorship in wrestling from Coach Dana Cooke.

Sky turned 17 this past May, and Chris has been worried since Sky got his driver’s license last year.

On the other hand, he sometimes took 14-year-old Carson to work with him at Noank Fence & Construction, where Carson would often sleep all day.

Meanwhile, their siblings Bennett recently joined lacrosse, and Bella is taking ballet dance classes.
