Warwick, Rhode Island’s Liam Coen, grew up in an athletic family. His father, Timothy, and grandfather, Phillip Coen, played football.

Liam Coen, the son of Timothy and Elizabeth Coen, was born on November 8, 1985, in Warwick, Rhode Island. His parents named him Liam Patrick Coen.
Sadly, his mother passed away in the winter of 2006.
Liam played under his father at La Salle Academy in Providence, where he was named Rhode Island’s Gatorade Player of the Year.
Later, he played quarterback at UMass and became a four-year starter, wearing the jersey number 12 in honor of his favorite athlete, Tom Brady.
His father was a football coach who helped build the program at Salve Regina University before coaching La Salle Academy in Rhode Island.
Timothy, aka Tim, had the most incredible time coaching his son, and the father-son duo led La Salle to four consecutive Rhode Island Division I Super Bowls.
It’s just what he wanted to do. Instead of watching Winnie the Pooh like all his buddies, he would watch my team’s high school film. You’d hear him in the other room (calling plays). Almost like even before it would even happen he knew it was coming, because he’d watched the film so many times.

Moreover, Tim played baseball at Eckerd College from 1972 to 1975.
The father and son bond like best friends, and Tim is always there to support Liam on the unusual journey up the coaching ladder.
Although Tim is enjoying his retirement on the golf course in Florida, he remains close to his son’s career, studying film of his son’s new team.
On the other hand, Liam’s grandfather, Phillip Coen, was a team captain for Boston College from 1947 to 1951 and served as an assistant coach at Brown University.
Liam Coen Met His Wife, Ashley Coen, On A Dating App
Liam Coen and Ashley Ford met on the dating app Hinge just before the COVID-19 pandemic and married in 2021.
The football coach made the first move, but Ashley rejected his advances. However, after several attempts, they went on their first New Year’s Eve date.
Ashley used to work as a director’s representative and became an executive producer for a visual effects studio based in Los Angeles.
After the wedding, they relocated to Lexington, where Liam coached for a year before returning to the Rams.
The married couple welcomed their first son, Jackson Ford Coen, born on August 23, 2021, and Callahan Coen, born in early 2024.
Ashley was born in the Phillippines on October 8, 1986, and her family relocated to the United States in 1991.
Her father was in the Air Force and decided to move to the States when Mount Pinatubo erupted, destroying the military base.
Sadly, her parents divorced, moving to the States, but she continues to share a strong bond with them. She lived with her mother until high school before shifting to her father’s home in Northern Virginia.
Ashley moved around a lot while growing up and was ready to do so even after becoming a football coach’s wife. She had been a football fan before she met Liam, and her first quarterback love was Peyton Manning.
Despite the challenges of moving frequently due to Liam’s coaching career, they’ve built a strong and supportive family life together.
