Richard Sherman was born in Compton, California, on March 30, 1988.

A Stanford University alumnus, Sherman began his collegiate career as a wide receiver before transitioning to cornerback, a move that would define his professional trajectory.

Selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft, Sherman became a central figure in the team’s “Legion of Boom” secondary.
