Liverpool FC is one of the most successful clubs in English football history. The club was founded in 1892 and is based in the city of Liverpool, Merseyside. The club’s home ground is Anfield, which has a capacity of over 53,000 seats. Liverpool has won 19 league titles, seven FA Cups, eight League Cups, and six European Cups, making them the most successful English club in European competition.

Liverpool’s success is largely due to their iconic managers, players, and fans. The club has had some legendary managers in its history, including Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley, and Kenny Dalglish. Shankly transformed Liverpool from a struggling second division club to a dominant force in English football, winning three league titles and a UEFA Cup during his tenure. Paisley took over from Shankly and led Liverpool to three European Cups, six league titles, and three League Cups. Dalglish, who played for Liverpool during the 1970s and 80s, later became the club’s manager and won three league titles and two FA Cups.

So it’s clear that in its history there were a few players that stood out and are considered some of the best that ever played the game of football.

Liverpool Football Club is one of the most successful clubs in English football history, with a rich tradition of producing some of the greatest players in the game. Over the years, the club has had many prolific goalscorers who have etched their names into the club’s record books.

In second place is Gordon Hodgson, who scored 233 goals during his two spells with Liverpool in the 1920s and 1930s. Hodgson was a true goal machine, and his record of scoring 17 hat-tricks for the club still stands today. He was also a versatile player, playing in a variety of positions including centre-forward, inside-right, and centre-back.

Third on the list is Ian Rush, who is widely regarded as one of Liverpool’s greatest ever players. Rush scored 229 league goals during two spells with the club, and was instrumental in helping Liverpool win five league titles, three FA Cups, and a European Cup. He was a clinical finisher with lightning pace, and his partnership with Kenny Dalglish is still remembered fondly by Liverpool fans.

In fourth place is Billy Liddell, who scored 215 league goals during his 23-year career with Liverpool. Liddell was a true one-club man, and his loyalty to Liverpool endeared him to fans across the country. He was a skilful winger with an eye for goal, and he helped Liverpool win two league titles and an FA Cup during his time at the club.

Salah has scored 129 league goals since joining the club in 2017, and has been instrumental in helping Liverpool win the Premier League, Champions League, and Club World Cup. He is a versatile forward with a deadly left foot, and his goalscoring record speaks for itself.

Mo Salah’s 129th goal was extra special because it came against LFC’s arch-enemy Manchester United’s historic 7-0 defeat in March 2023. Making Salah the best LFC striker in Premier League.

Finally, in ninth place, we have two players who scored exactly the same number of league goals for Liverpool: Sam Raybould and Steven Gerrard, both with 120 goals. Raybould played for Liverpool between 1900 and 1907, while Gerrard spent his entire career at the club, scoring his 120th and final league goal in 2014.
