WR DeVonta Smith Signs With Eagles

It begins. Your club’s season can’t really get underway in a meaningful sense until the top draft picks get signed. In days of yore that would occasionally last well into the season and often into the preseason. Not really the case anymore under the new CBA but it’s still a solid feeling when your best “new” guy has put his Henry on the dotted line. When you throw in the individual may be one of the very best players drafted in 2021 there is added significance.

Devonta Smith Signs is the word put out by the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and he is usually spot on. However, the DeVonta Smith Twitter account is silent on the matter, and that is an interesting item to note.
ed note: DeVonta’s Twitter account has made no mention “as of this posting.”

The Eagles nabbed Smith with the tenth selection of the 2021 NFL Draft. He only slid that far down due to his size which at 6′ 170 lbs is a bit on the “slight” side. That being said you don’t score 47 touchdowns and not be able to play football. There is no doubting his talent, nor his grit. The NFC East is not flag football. At the end of the day look for DeVonta to make his mark in the NFL. Talent rises. This kid has a ton.
