The Whitecaps fell 1-0 to Minnesota United FC on Wednesday evening. A 72nd-minute header from Ramon Abila was enough for the Loons to get their first win of the season. For an in-depth recap of the match check out my post-game right here. The Whitecaps were held scoreless for the second time this season. It wasn't due to a lack of chances as Cristian Dajome, Lucas Cavallini, and others all had good chances.

Sporting Kansas City is also coming off of a 1-0 loss. They fell in Texas to the Houston Dynamo. A scoreless first half before Houston would capitalize on the counter in the 56th minute. Max Urruti would rush back and fire one past John Pulskamp.

The back 4 in front of Melia will be Luis Martins, Andreau Fontas, Ilie Sanchez, and Graham Zusi. The absence of Johnny Russell is a tough loss for Sporting KC but it is good news for Whitecaps fans.
