Twas The Night Before Canucks Camp, and All Thro' The House,

Not a player was stirring, Not even a Rousse,

The Audi's were parked in the driveways with care,

In hopes that no snow would soon be there;

The dogs were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of walks again danc’d in their heads,

Eriksson with "6 Million", Trying to ruin our Cap,

Had just settled our brains for a long 4-year nap-

When out of Twitter there arose such a clatter,

I opened my phone to see what was the matter.

I liked and retweeted just like the flash.

To the news from Friedman had thrown up in a dash.

The new players were all set and ready to go,

Motivation to players already in the show;

When, what my social media should appear,

But A Canucks Captain, and his team with no fear,

With a nod to his lads, So subtle and quick,

I knew at a moment it was the right pick.

More rapid than shouting out Jake in a game,

He Texted, Tweeted, and messaged and then called them by name:

Now! Petey, now! Pearson, now! Hughes and Miller,

On! Edler, On! Boeser, On! Schmidt and let's kill er'

Normally we are looking at starting in fall!

But train away! Train away! Train away all!

As quick as last season was to fly by,

We should all hold our heads up to the sky;

So we couldn't beat Vegas despite down by two,

With Demko playing lights out - but how could we knew?

And then from Jim Benning, Something ryhmyes with Roof,

A Hamonic part time offer, were Canucks Fans aloof?

I went to my soucres and was asking around,

All of Canucks fans came in with a bound:

Hamonic can play from head to his foot,

And his clothes were tarnish'd with ashes and soot;

He's Only 30 and ain't close to a hack,

And envision 3 peddlers moving out from the back:

Hughes eyes - how they dimpled! His thoughts how merry,

His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry;

His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,

He couldn't grow a beard and was as white as the snow;

Would the fate of Vancouver be held tight in his teeth,

Or could his teammates circle like a wreath.

Green had assembled things close to his belly

And wanted lines smooth, like a bowl full of jelly:

A chubby and plump GM, a right jolly old elf,

I thought of him, trying to get credentials for myself;

With a wink of eye and a twist of his head

The Canucks PR I know I would not have to dread.

Instead not a word but went straight to my work

hoping to catch Canucks Fans with a jerk,

and laying other sports aside of my nose

A given a nod to Canucks would arose.

But who cares let's here the opening whistle,

even if it's without one fan I don't care a thistle:

But I heard Green exclaim, ere he drove out of sight-

Let's get it Canucks Fans! And to all a good night!
