LSU – challenges of defending a title. This Saturday the LSU Tigers set sail on a Voyage towards defending its College Football title when they face Mississippi State Rebels. The Journey began when they were handed the trophy in early January since then the boat has fallen apart and been rebuilt numerous times.
Some 33 players left for the NFL, a further few transferred or are opting out due to COVID.
OC Joe Brady left for the NFL, while DC Dave Aranda took the HC job at Baylor.
Coach O has continued to recruit and bring in transfers to fill the voids left by so much talent departing. Former DC Bo Pelini returns to the Tigers for his second stint and will improve the defense beyond what it was despite having less to work with.

The offense will see several talented players missing from last season, most notably, Myles Brennan is set to replace Joe Burrow at QB.
Never has a team performed liked the Tigers did in 2019 and they may never again.
They broke every single College Football record there is to break on the attacking side of the ball.
Never has a team been so decimated by departures, so it’s hard to say how they will bounce this season.
The Rebels will bring everything they have to game one of the 2020 season. Including a new HC in Mike Leach. Leach brings with him an air raid offense the SEC doesn’t usually see.
Former Stanford Quarterback KJ Costello will sling the pill with vengeance. Kylin Hill returns at RB and will have a field day against the weakened LSU defense from last season.
This game will be closer than the bookies think. Some have LSU as 19.5 favorites. This is a dream. Without a pre-season to go off, its hard for the rest of the world to make a judgment on the results on this one or on the Tigers season for that matter.
Expect fireworks as the SEC kicks off this weekend.
Good luck to everyone, except Alabama.
