A Divisional Matchup With Important Playoff and Seeding Implications

Sunday Night Football Seahawks at Rams was a big game. Seattle was looking to keep pace with the San Francisco 49ers at 11-2. While the Rams were looking to keep their playoff hopes alive. Sitting at 7-5 they might need to win out and get help. They are sitting right on the outside looking in. Hoping to catch the Vikings, Or Seahawks or anyone.

Seattle could move into the top seed in the NFC with a win. Or they could fall back down to the 5th seed with a loss. That's how close things were. Russell Wilson went 21/31 for 240 yards 2 TD's and 1 Interception.  He was not really needed as the Seahawks had a solid game plan. Keep it on the ground to Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny. The team that can keep their defence rested and control the momentum should win the game. Aaron Donald has been a key for most offensive lines. Being double and triple-teamed all year. Until Goff threw his second interception of the game to Diggs. Looking for Cook in the endzone. Diggs read it well and undercut the route to give the Seahawks at Rams the ball right back at the 3-yard line.

Seattle wasn't able to do anything deep in their own end. Gifted the ball back they were forced into another 3 and out. The Rams got the ball back on their own 48-yard line. Great field position to once again march down and put the game out of reach. A big 20 yard run by Gurley to start the drive and Los Angeles was already in field goal position. After attempting a trick play Kupp missed a wide-open Higbee in the endzone. The Rams would settle for a field goal attempt. Seattle blocked it and just like that, they had the momentum again.

The Rams defense had the answer it seemed. Seahawks at Rams were only able to get a couple of first downs before the drive was stalled. Aaron Donald had a big sack on 3rd down forcing Seattle into a punt. The next couple of possessions were battle of the defenses. both teams were forced into 3 and outs and the 3rd quarter came to an end. Rams were up 21-9 looking to hold on.

They were able to get down the field before Wilson tried to force it. Troy Hill made the interception in the endzone to seal the game. Big win for the Rams at home as they move to 8-5.

3 Big Weeks Ahead For Seahawks and Rams

With the 49ers winning against the Saints and moving to 11-2. The Seahawks fall back to the 5th spot and a wild card berth. The NFC is so close this year we could see a 12 win team not getting the bye. Seattle will head out on the road to play the Carolina Panthers. While they have had an up and down season it should be a tough task for Pete Carroll's team. Rashaad Penny will be out for the season. Seahawks at Rams lost more than just the game.

The Rams travel to Dallas to face the 6-7 Cowboys. This is a great chance to build on a 2 game winning streak. While the Cowboys come in on a 2 game losing streak. They are in a tough spot after making the Superbowl Last year. Los Angeles could possibly win out and go 11-5 and not make the playoffs.

The NFC is so strong this year that a 10-3 record gets you a wildcard birth. It will come down to games between the 49ers and Seahawks. Packers and Vikings, and Rams at 49ers. it will be a tight run to the finish. Brees will look to hold the Saints in the number 1 seed by winning out.

It will be an interesting end to the season. Seahawks at Rams sure helped but L.A. needs more help to make the playoffs. They might have waited too long to make their move.  Dallas will be desperate with the Eagles pulling out the win on Monday night. We should have a great game on Sunday afternoon.
