Michigan State RB LJ Scott Declares for 2019 NFL Draft

If you thought Michigan State RB LJ Scott would be returning to the Spartans football team in 2019, think again. LJ Scott is in for the 2019 NFL Draft after much consideration of redshirting his 2018 season after a brutal Senior campaigned riddled with injuries. Scott announced on Wednesday via his Twitter account that he will NOT be using a redshirt and will be headed for the NFL come April.

Once viewed as one of the best running backs in college football, LJ Scott was destined for success at the pro level. Recent injuries have softened the hype on his draft stock, but Scott is no player to sleep on. In his four years (42 games) at Michigan State, Scott combined for 2,771 rushing yards (4.7 YPC) on 586 carries, 25 rushing touchdowns, and added 40 receptions for 403 receiving yards, and two touchdowns to his stat line. Scott is known for being a bully between the tackles, but showing enough burst to have success running off tackle as well. Scott is a nasty runner, that runs with a tremendous amount of toughness at 6-foot-1, 226-lbs. Scouts will have plenty of questions regarding LJ Scott’s injury status, but his production on the field, work ethic, and running style will keep him in the running as a guy to keep an eye on in the mid rounds.
