Dante Pettis (49ers)
6’1, 195 lbs
Pettis was a second-round pick of the 49ers in last years draft who played with backup quarterbacks and only started 7 games. This year he gets back a healthy Jimmy Garoppolo and is the teams #1 receiver. This makes the Dante Pettis 2019 Fantasy Outlook much better than last seasons production. Last year he still had some okay stats in limited time, with 27 receptions for 467 yards, 5 TDs.
Pettis has some risk but also carries a huge upside, especially with the way he finished last season. Over his last five games, Pettis had 359 yards and 4 TDs. At that pace, those numbers over a 16 game season would be 1,148 yards 12 TDs. He averaged a robust 17.3 yards-per-reception and big-play potential is there.
Getting back Jimmy G in a Kyle Shanahan offense and being the number one receiver all adds up to a big season. Pettis can attack defenses short, intermediate, and get deep. He can play in the slot and on the outside. George Kittle will get his targets, but there are ton up for grabs and Pettis will get his.
If Jimmy G stays healthy and you can get Pettis performing the way he did over his final five games, you get a WR 1 at WR 3 cost.
