DT Isaiah Buggs NFL Draft Profile – Alabama

Does size alone allow you to play in the NFL?

Isaiah Buggs

DT
Alabama

Class Year: Senior
Height – 6’4″ Weight – 300 lbs
Twitter: @BigPooh_91
NFL Combine Results:
40 Yard Dash – 5.15 seconds
Bench Press 20 – Reps (225 lbs)
Vertical Jump – 24.5 Inches
Broad Jump – 96 Inches
3 Cone Drill – 8.01 Seconds

Strengths:

There is no doubting Buggs is a big unit. At 300 lbs not many guys are going to manhandle him out of the way. Has great use of hands, counters his opponents and throws them around. An excellent anchor and feet placement make him more of a harder target to budge.

Can get inside and dominate offensive linesman when he feels like it.

Had 13.5 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks for Alabama in 2018.

Weaknesses:

Lacks athleticism, determination and the will to be on the field. Seems disinterested at times. Never shows 110%. Is sloppy at the wrong times. He doesn’t have the spark like you would expect. Doesn’t seem to care if he plays or not.

Has poor burst and had a below average combine.

I’m not saying you need to be an athletic wonder at 300 lbs, but you need to show me something. Size doesn’t count for everything.

Overall Review:

5th– 6th round.

Needs to be in a rotation policy in a heavy set defensive line. I’m not a fan
