Manchester City failed to secure 3 points after VAR controversial decision
Manchester City faced Tottenham Hotspurs today, however, it felt like a real deja vu game! Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus scores an absolute screamer in added time putting City ahead 3-2. Manchester City fans are cheering Coys' fans are crying and then the VAR Gods act again. VAR controversy continues to divide fans and it will not change any time soon.
Gabriel Jesus was denied his amazing goal because of an unintentional handball pass by Laporte. The new FIFA rules do not allow any handball goals. No handball goals, or passes leading to goals and not even a throw-ins? That's a use of players hands too, right? It was the right decision to deny Gabriel Jesus his goal, as per new rules, however, the VAR Controversial decision does not make the game more enjoyable to watch.
It's a sad situation for Gabriel Jesus and Manchester City. Jesus even said after the post-game conversation with the referee "VAR is shit!" and nobody can blame him. He is certainly onto something. There are arguments that VAR will change the dynamics of the game but also will change the results significantly.
