Napoli Winter Transfer Rumors

It's that time of year again, with the holidays rolling on by, the January transfer period is here. The rumor mill is the worst around this time, giving fans of all different clubs hope.

For Napoli, it has been stated that they will not be buyers come this January market, but like every rumor, you can't trust it. Well look at the current club and if there are any options for them to buy.

Current Players

Kalidou Koulibaly

Have to start with this one, as his name has appeared over and over since the disgraceful scenes at the San Siro. Manchester United have not been shy in letting everyone know that Koulibaly is a top priority, and ADL has even stated even 130 Million won't convince him in selling. More than likely Koulibaly will remain in Napoli but this rumor may not be put to bed.

Elseid Hysaj

It's been no secret, Hysaj’s form has declined. He has even fallen out of grace with Ancelotti. There have been strong rumors that Chelsea and Sarri are interested in the Albanian. Hysaj is very familiar with Sarri and has played the best under him with Napoli and Empoli, a move to England may be the best move for him.

Amadou Diawara

Another player who has fallen out of Ancelotti's grace and has been heavy on the transfer rumors. Diawara was signed from Bologna in 2016, in hopes he would be able to replace Marek Hamsik. He hasn't been able to grab the bull by the horns, and this season was the make or break season for the 21-year-old Guinean. He's had six starts this season, and in his career with Napoli has only scored one goal. He certainly has interest as Fiorentina, Chievo, Wolves, and Tottenham have all expressed interest. This is a move that is more than likely to happen.

Adam Ounas

From a young player falling out of grace, to a player how has certainly impressed. Ounas has definitely proved to Ancelotti he is talented and can soon be a lethal weapon. The issue for Ounas is playing time, if he could get more minutes, it could help him improve. It seems like for Ounas more than likely a loan deal will be put in place, Chievo, Atalanta, Cagliari, And AS Monaco have all expressed interest in the young Algerian forward.

Marko Rog

The young Croatian has attracted several teams. Rog doesn't seem to be in Napoli's long-term plans, and they could look to make a profit from the Croatian by sending him on Loan. AS Monaco, Schalke 04, Bologna, Fiorentina, And Parma have all expressed interest.

Possible Players

Hirving “Chucky” Lozano

Napoli and the young Mexican star have been linked a lot this transfer period. They certainly could use a winger as Jose Callejon's days are coming to an end shortly. PSV have already put a 35 million dollar tag on the young forward. All though this rumor has gained more and more tension, more than likely it will not happen, as Clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, and Inter have all expressed interest.

Nicolo Barrella

The promising young Italian Midfielder has gained attraction with his impressive performances with the Italian National team. With more than Likely Diawara on his way out, Barrella would make sense as a Central Midfielder. Unfortunately, Cagliari has Made the asking price steeper and steeper, denying Napoli's bid to send players over with 20 million Euros. He is now valued at 50 million Euros with Inter also very interested and very willing to spend that price.

Christian Kouame

The 21-year-old Ivorian has stolen the January transfer rumors away from his Star teammate Krzysztof Piątek. Although he hasn't had the same productivity as Piątek he has shown skills that teams covet, like his speed and hard work. He is sought-after by two other big Italian clubs in Roma and Milan. The starting price for the forward is 35 million. Is Napoli really that keen on the young forward?

Agustin Almendra

This is the most intriguing option for Napoli thus far. The young Boca Juniors product has impressed along with the pool of young talent the Boca obtain. He's a central midfielder with skill. He has been looked upon by many European clubs, Inter seems to very interested in the young Argentine striker, as they are willing to let him stay at Boca for a season where Napoli is not too thrilled with that idea. His asking price starts at 15 million Euros.

For Carlo Ancelotti, he should be very pleased with his club at the halfway point. Although trailing Juve by nine points, and after a surprise exit out of a promising Champions League campaign, they have a lot to look forward to. Napoli still has Europa league to play for, as well as a Scudetto race that is far from over. It seems Napoli are still looking for one to two pieces despite Ancelotti's Statement of Napoli not interested in buying. Hopefully, Napoli gives us a good transfer period.
