Although Ronaldo's unbeaten run against his former Man United club ended on Wednesday, he ended his Champions League goal drought in style. Ronaldo scored a breathtaking opener to beat De Gea in the sixty-fifth minute. Ronaldo's goal drought in the Champions League consisted of 20 shots in 453 minutes without a goal. Also, this was Ronaldo's eighth first-game in the group stages. This means Ronaldo has now played more group stage matches than any other outfield player in the competition's history.

However, during their heaviest defeat, there was one thing which was not on a sad note. Han-Noah Massengo (17 years, 3 months, 30 days) became the youngest-ever French debutant in Champions League history.
