English Premier League Matchweek 13 - Liverpool Vs Tottenham Battle For The Top While The Foxes Wait To Pounce

Day One Of English Premier League Matchweek 13

English Premier League Matchweek 13 kicked out Tuesday with 2 matches between four stumbling teams. Luckily the games Wednesday would make up for things as we have some great games and the top spot in the table up for grabs.

Wolverhampton and Chelsea were looking to respond after losing on the weekend. After a nil-nil first half, Olivier Giroud started Chelsea off on the right foot. He would open the scoring in the 49th minute with a great volley from the top of the 6-yard box. Ben Chilwell would drive down the left side and cut in a driven ball right to Giroud. Rui Patricio couldn't get all of the shot and after review, it was 1-0.

Despite 54.9% possession, Chelsea was giving up far too much space and the Wolves would equalize. In the 66th minute off a Wolves corner, Chelsea just couldn't clear. Owen Otasowie would head it down to Daniel Podence who would proceed to make two defenders look like training pylons before roofing it past Édouard Mendy. Things would go from bad to worse at the death for The Blues as a failed attack would lead to the Counter. Pedro Neto would take the initial pass and do the rest for a 2-1 Wolves victory.

In the other match from Tuesday's action, Manchester City and West Bromwich Albion played to a 1-1 draw. This was City's second straight draw while West Brom got their 7th point of the season. İlkay Gündoğan would score first for Man City in the 30th minute. The away squad would equalize before the half off a free-kick. The ball would bounce around and fall to Semi Ajayi, his shot would deflect off of Rúben Dias for the OG. The two teams would split the points in English Premier League Matchweek 13.

Matchweek 13 Wednesdays Action In The EPL

Matchweek 13 could see movement from the top teams in the table. Liverpool will host Tottenham at Anfield, while Leicester City hosts Everton. Watch for The Foxes to pounce early and jump ahead. Could it force a tight game between The Reds and Spurs? Southhampton could also move up from their fourth spot as they will head on the road to take on Arsenal.

What is happening with Arsenal right now? Find out from the lads over at Saved By The Bellerin as they will be giving you a live reaction for the match against Southhampton. Arsenal lost to the lonely Burnley so I can't imagine the spirits will be high. Things could continue to get worse for The Gunners as they are awfully close to the bottom of the table.
