21-Year-Old Ryan Mutombo Has Been Continuing The Basketball Legacy Of His Late Father Dikembe Mutombo From A Very Young Age!

Katamba Wa Mutombo, aka Ryan Mutombo, the son of the late Congolese-American professional basketball player of the NBA, Dikembe Mutombo, has been pursuing his career in basketball from a very young age.

Born on June 28, 2003, in Atlanta, Georgia, Ryan Mutombo grew up in an Athlete family.

Along with his father, Dikembe Mutombo, his uncle Ilo was also an outstanding basketball player.

Ryan was also a four-star prospect in the class of 2021, ranked No. 112 nationally by 247 Sports and No.17 among centers.

Similarly, after graduating from Lovett High School, Ryan Mutombo joined Georgetown, where his father was a two-time Big East Defensive Player of the Year for the Hoyas.

His late father, Dikembe Mutombo, shared a picture of the graduation day of Ryan Mutombo on his Instagram on May 16, 2021, expressing his pride for his son’s achievement at such a young age.

The late Dikembe Mutombo stated, “We are so proud of our youngest son, Ryan Mutombo, who graduated from Lovett School Saturday. He is on his way to Georgetown University.

Ryan Mutombo began playing basketball for Georgetown at the age of 18!

Ryan Mutombo committed to Georgetown at the age of 18 after his senior year of high school.

As a freshman, he played for the Hoyas team and appeared in 27 games in 2021-22.

Moreover, during his first year at Georgetown, he averaged 5.1 points and 3.0 rebounds per game and ranked second on the team with 23 blocks.

He also recorded his first career double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds while adding four blocks against UMBC on December 8, 2021.

Ryan Mutombo then appeared in 12 games as a sophomore, averaging 2.5 points and 1.9 rebounds per game in 2022-2023.

During his Junior year 2023-2024, he appeared in 15 games and recorded a season-high four points and three rebounds in a win over Le Moyne on November 7, 2023.

Similarly, Georgetown transferred Ryan Mutombo, who stands at 7’2″, to Georgia Tech for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
