The Detroit Lions selected Ramzee with the last pick of the 2007 NFL draft, earning him the title of Mr. Irrelevant, and signed a three-year contract on June 29, 2007.
He was part of the Lions team when they made history as the first NFL team to go winless in the modern 16-game regular season. However, the Lions released him on September 6, 2009.
He signed a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles on November 11, 2009, but the Eagles released him on December 1, 2009.
Afterward, Ramzee played for the Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins, Denver Broncos, and Saskatchewan Roughriders.
After retiring from his professional playing career, he joined the Kansas City Chiefs as the player engagement director in 2016, a role he served in until February 2025.
Ramzee sued the Chiefs, alleging racial discrimination, and filed the lawsuit in the Western District of Missouri. The lawsuit claimed the Chiefs paid African-American business employees less than their white counterparts.

Fedetrice Robison sat glued to the television on a crisp spring evening in Huntsville on April 27, 2007.
She was in a crowded room with family and friends, waiting to hear her son Ramzee’s name called on Day 1 of the NFL Draft.
Fedetrice wasn’t the only one waiting.
Ramzee had been anticipating this moment since his college days. Before the draft, he was told he would go somewhere between the second and fourth rounds.
However, he had to wait much longer. His confidence wavered as the rounds passed.
He had stopped watching by the time the Detroit Lions passed on him with the first pick of the fourth round.
It was a day I will never, ever forget. I just sat in front of the television all day just waiting to hear my son’s name.

Ramzee had begun to doubt himself and flashed back to all the bad plays he had made at the Alabama Crimson Tide.
The only person who didn’t stop watching was his mother. Fedetrice remained hopeful for two agonizing days when Ramzee began to question his future.
Then, with the 255th and final pick of the draft, the Lions finally called his name, making him “Mr. Irrelevant,” the title given to the last selection.
I had no idea what Mr. Irrelevant meant. My family and I were just so relieved that I had been finally called. It was a very emotional night.
