Well, Kayla was shot in the back, in the lower abdominal area, five times last night by her ex-husband, Jeremy Wayne McBride.
She was 5 months pregnant with her miracle baby after several failed pregnancies in the past.
She survived the horrendous incident by undergoing several surgeries, including the removal of her left ovary, left fallopian tube, part of her small intestine, and part of her colon.
Jeremy McBride Is In Jail For Attempted Murder Of His Ex-Wife Kayla Netherland And Unborn Child
Kayla’s ex-husband, Jeremy Wayne McBride, age 36, was booked into the Marion County, Indiana jail on January 20, 2025, at 6:00 AM.
McBride, 6’02” tall and 172 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes. He was arrested and faces the charges of attempted murder.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) has just released the mugshot of Jeremy Wayne McBride, the man accused of attempting to murder his wife and causing the death of her unborn child.
The shooting took place on Sunday night at approximately 6:11 p.m. in the 700 block of E. Pleasant Run Parkway North Drive.
Kayla and Jeremy met in 2018 and got married in 2022.

Back in 2022, Kayla shared a heartfelt message about her experience. She reflected on a difficult time when she was expecting a baby, but instead, she lost the child and described it as an angel watching over her.
In honor of Mother’s Day, she shared how that loss, especially around the anniversary in January, had been a challenging period.
Despite the pain, she found comfort in knowing that her angel was with her, guiding her as she grew with the man she loved and patiently waiting for the right time for their family to grow.

Kayla loved being a preschool teacher. Once, Laura Sexton shared that Haysel was excited to bring her flower and cup on teacher’s day.
Haysel made sure not to forget them when leaving the house, and on the way to school, she even reminded her mom, saying,
“Mommy, make sure you don’t break the flower cup, hold it carefully.”
Regarding Jeremy McBride, he is a Radio Technician at JES & Sons 2-Way, LLC.
He studied Theology at Indiana Bible College and graduated from Decatur Central High School.
