Richard Threatt, one of the respected coaches, passed away tragically in August 2025, leaving behind his family and the entire community.
Though the cause of his death has not been publicly disclosed, the news has left his family and community heartbroken.
Richard Threatt Had a Deep Connection With DHS And The Students He Mentored!
Affectionately known as Coach Richard, he was more than a coach. He was a mentor and a motivator for students, athletes, and colleagues.
Throughout his years of service, he built a reputation for his positive spirit and helpful nature.
His dedication extended beyond the field; he reflected what it meant to be a respected member of the community.
In the wake of his passing, his family, friends, and community members are pouring in heartfelt tributes.
A former principal at F.D. Moon shared how Richard always stood by him, saying:
Richard Threatt, wow, always supported me while I was the principal at F.D. Moon. They don’t make them like him. Rest well my friend.
One of Richard’s closest companions recalled recent conversations about retirement, now bittersweet by his sudden passing.
He said:
I love you Coach! We just had a conversation about our retirement 2 weeks ago! You will always be remembered! Rest in Power Sir! Praying for your Family and all that loved him!
Likewise, his family members asked for prayers, saying:
Prayers for my family and The Douglas Trogan family as we moran the loss Richard Threatt I will truly miss my cousin and to DHS they called him Coach Threatt.
