On the afternoon of February 1, Menard County deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting in the 15000 block of Tice Road, east of Petersburg.
Upon arrival, officers discovered two men with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to hospitals in Springfield for treatment.
Grant Withers was later identified as one of the victims and succumbed to his injuries.
