Pete Rose Did Not Succumb To Cancer As He Battled Heart Disease

Major League Baseball announced Pete Rose’s demise and offered condolences to his family, friends, and fans, who appreciated his skill, effort, and determination in the game.

83-year-old Pete Rose was at a meet-and-greet with Fiterman Sports Group in Nashville on the 29th of September afternoon.

Although he was in a wheelchair because of back pain, he seemed in good spirits and happily took photos and signed autographs for many fans.

The reason for Rose Pete’s death isn’t apparent yet. The Medical Examiner’s office in Clark County, Nevada, has his body and will do an autopsy this week.

Back in 2018, the former MLB star revealed that he had heart problems and had undergone three major procedures in the last five years.

Nonetheless, some also speculated whether Rose had cancer and if that might have led to his death.

Pete Rose said that when he managed the Reds, he didn’t have issues with players not hustling or being late for the bus or plane.

If a player was told to be ready at five but showed up late, he saw that as a potential problem, like a cancer waiting to grow.

The former MLB player also mentioned that he would have liked to sleep in the clubhouse when he played.

Pete Rose had supported a young man, Carter, from Brown County, who was battling a rare type of lymphoma before turning 20.

When he first started treatment, baseball legend Pete Rose contacted him by phone.

Pete reminded Carter that he had a solid support system and that people were praying for him.

With support from Pete Rose and former Reds player J.J. Hoover, who even visited Carter at home, he felt surrounded by a team of people helping him through this tough time.

Pete Rose Underwent Heart Surgeries And Had Problem In Walking

Six years ago in 2018, Pete Rose said he was disabled and had difficulty walking or traveling.

He mentioned that his health was getting worse, as he had a heart illness and was on blood thinners.

At the same time, he also noted that he lost two jobs in 2017—one with FOX Sports and another with Hit King—leading to a $550,000 drop in his annual income.

Although he made $453,000 a year in 2018, he had significant expenses, including divorce attorney fees and other debts.

Thus, Pete was trying to prevent her ex-wife, Carol Rose, from receiving additional spousal support and attorney fees.

He has previously asked the court to finalize the divorce so he could marry his long-time girlfriend, Kiana Kim, while he was relatively healthy.
