“He paid attention the whole time,” Brett said. “I remember looking down at him at one point and he was so focused, so eager to take it all in. I was dumbfounded.”

His talent as a quarterback earned him an invitation to the Elite 11 quarterback camp in Long Beach, California. There, he competed with top prospects like CJ Stroud and Bryce Young.

His impressive skills caught the attention of several universities, including Cal, UCLA, and Oregon State, which showed interest in recruiting him.

At this point, he was faced with a decision between football and baseball. His father, Brett, advised him to start with baseball since returning to a high level would be harder after a break.

Following this advice, Bryce played baseball at the University of Oregon. Later, he also joined the football team.

In July 2024, Bryce’s hard work paid off when he was drafted by a professional team.
