Late marathoner Samuel Wanjiru’s wife, Triza Njeri, moved on to recover a prime property that belonged to her husband, which was allegedly grabbed in Nuahururu town.
Wanjiru was a Kenyan long-distance runner who won the 2008 Beijing Olympics Marathon in an Olympic record time of 2:06:32, becoming the first Kenyan to win Olympic gold in the marathon.

In May 2017, while testifying during an inquest into Wanjiru’s death, his mother, Jannah Wanjiru, said at the Milimani law court that she believed her son was murdered.

She recalled the details of the night when he died, including an altercation at their home and the presence of another woman named Jane Nduta in their bedroom.
Moreover, she mentioned that police officials reviewed CCTV footage from Samuel’s house as part of the investigation.
As the legal procedures are going on, Njeri has requested privacy for herself and her children.
In addition, legal disputes over Samuel’s estate have also been complicated, with claims of property ownership and succession rights involving multiple parties.

Recently, Triza moved to recover the prime property that belonged to her late husband. It was allegedly stolen in Nuahururu town.
While talking to the press alongside Njeri, her lawyer, Ndegwa Wahome, said it was just recently, when going through Wanjiru’s documents, that they discovered the property. Ndegwa said,
“We recently discovered that the late Wanjiru owned a prime plot in Nyahururu town. A local businessman had illegally taken over the property but we are going for it,”

Ndegwa said Wanjiru’s widow instructed him to ensure the property was already being developed and was returned to the deceased’s estate.
He added that he had engaged the land registrar and established no records on how and who authorized the property on behalf of the family.
Wahome also revealed that some family members had been watching some of Samuel’s properties. He said,
“Unfortunately, the widow has to consistently fight people she thought she would depend on after her husband’s death. Instead, they keep seeking to disinherit her,”
