A new lead has emerged in the cases of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. As a reminder, O.J. Simpson was charged with the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in 1994.
O.J. Simpson was acquitted in the famous “Trial of the Century,” but later found liable for their deaths in a civil lawsuit.
Highlights
- When O.J. Simpson’s former bodyguard, Iroc Avelli, was arrested in March 2022, police seized a green backpack from him.
- Inside the thumb drive in the green backpack, there was no confession from O.J. Simpson.
- The thumb drive had recordings of Iroc Avelli speaking to himself.
A search warrant obtained by police in Minnesota owns a thumb drive, which they were told contained O.J.’s confessions to killing Nicole and Ron.
On June 12, 1994, Nicole Brown Simpson and her children attended a dance recital and then had dinner at Mezzaluna restaurant.
Ron Goldman, a waiter at the restaurant, was close friends with Nicole but wasn’t serving her table.
At 9:37 pm, Nicole’s mother called the restaurant about a pair of lost eyeglasses.
After finishing his shift at 9:50 pm, Goldman took the glasses to return to Nicole’s condo.
Meanwhile, O.J. Simpson was at home with family friend Kato Kaelin, reportedly eating McDonald’s, although rumors about drug use were later proven false.
Around 10:15 pm, neighbors heard barking from Nicole’s dog Akita. By 10:55 pm, a dog walker found Akita’s legs covered in blood and discovered Nicole’s body and Goldman’s body nearby.

The detective informed them that Avelli and his attorney had met with LAPD and revealed that a thumb drive inside the green backpack contained a recording of O.J.’s confession.
Police have been informed that the recording also includes O.J. Simpson mentioning an unidentified third party being involved in the crimes.
Minnesota police needed a new search warrant to access the thumb drive. In June, they went to a judge and got approval.
However, the legal documents state that the results of what’s on the thumb drive are still unknown and pending.
According to law enforcement sources, the thumb drive has been part of an ongoing legal battle.

Avelli and his lawyer are suing the Minnesota police to get back the seized items, but in July, a judge ruled against returning them.
The thumb drive is still in the Bloomington Police Department’s custody. It’s unclear if they’ve examined its contents or shared any information with the LAPD.
Initially, the LAPD said that the Bloomington Police Department in Minnesota examined the thumb drives and found they contained no valuable evidence.
They also stated that the LAPD has never listened to or had possession of the drives.
Then, the sources in law enforcement informed that Bloomington Police accessed the thumb drives and discovered there was no confession from O.J. Simpson.
Instead, the drives only contained recordings of Iroc Avelli speaking to himself.
