He was considered one of the top prospects for the 2019 Major League Baseball draft, and the Cincinnati Reds drafted him. Later, he was assigned to the Billings Mustangs of the Rookie Advanced Pioneer League.
On April 13, 2022, the Reds promoted Nick to the major leagues and made his MLB debut as the starting pitcher against the Cleveland Guardians.
