Redskins Fire Gruden – And No One Noticed

We woke up today with the headlines “Redskins Fire Gruden” blasting us from the nation’s capital. This surprises no one. Especially Gruden.

When your team had a fairly solid offseason, picked up a sliding QB in the draft and some nice talent for their defense as well one expects change. As we found out, change is not always a good thing as the Redskins have looked less than stellar, to say the least, and the head coaches obvious disdain for rookie QB Haskins more or less seals the deal with his exit as reportedly, owner Daniel Snyder personally made the Haskins pick.

Unlike Miami, the Redskins are not in a “tear it down and rebuild it mode” who want to maximize their draft potential over the next few years. Nope. Owner Daniel Snyder always thinks his team is one player away (sound familiar Cowboys fans?) and until he gets that particular malaise under control the Redskins will continue being South Beach in DC.

As for Gruden? The man has not MET a drafted or free agent QB he likes. He has had issues with everyone from RGIII to Kirk Cousins to Haskins and everyone in between. Trying to sell everyone that Colt McCoy was his best option. Right. Yo, Grude. GREAT coaches take what they have and make it better. You need to work on that.
