It is Saturday and the clock has just hit high noon on the east coast. One hour till all 53 man rosters have to be set for every NFL team. It's time to look at the NFL Cuts and find out exactly how much BS has been coming out of the NFL's front offices as they jockey for position trying to get value out of anyone on their roster.
NFL Cuts - Ouch Category
Buffalo Bills - RB Sean McCoy - Ouch is right. The front office has been extolling the virtues of the 31-year-old RB the entire offseason. While they were doing this they drafted a RB in the 3rd round and signed ageless veteran Frank Gore. McCoy has lost more than a step and is not producing like a $6 million a year back. The only real shocker here is the way the Bills went about it. Shady should find work somewhere in the NFL. He is a complete back. He's just not 'cut-on-a-dime" quick anymore.
Jacksonville Jaguars - Terrelle Pryor - Loads of talent. Had one really good season. Not a good enough QB or WR the uber-athletic Pryor, who is now on the wrong side of 30, may have had his lost NFL stop.
Los Angeles Rams - WR Austin Proehl - It never came together for the talented wideout.
New England Patriots - WR Braxton Berrios - one and done for the talented wideout who was drafted in 2018 but spend his first season on the IR. This is more of a reflection of how deep the Pats WR room is than Braxton himself.
Philadelphia Eagles - Orlando Scandrick - The former Dallas Cowboy was giving it one more run. A true competitor, he may not be done yet. If he is ... a big tip-o-the-cap.
Seattle Seahawks - QB Paxton Lynch - Jerry Jones tried to trade up and get him. John Elway made the move first and ... wow, it is not looking good for the tall QB who it seems will go on to help prove, super tall QB's in the NFL don't work.
NFL Cuts - It's Business Category
Buffalo Bills - CB Captain Munnerlyn
Denver Broncos - S Su-a Cravens
Jacksonville Jaguars - DT DAtone Jones
Los Angeles Rams - TE Kendall Blanton, TE Romello Brooker, TE Keenen Brown - seeing a trend here?
Philadelphia Eagles - S Deiondre' Hall - 'Birds were looking.
This concludes the early bird observations. We will give the aftermath report when the dust settles. See ya then!
