#28 RB Lamar Miller 2019 Fantasy Outlook

Lamar Miller (Texans)

5’10, 225 lbs

Lamar Miller has been giving fantasy owners solid RB2 numbers for years now. He’s gone for over 1100 total yards and at least 6 TD’s five years in a row. While he may not offer RB1 numbers and have those huge games or huge seasons, he has been steady and productive.

The Texans offense can be explosive and they have one of the better young quarterbacks in the league in Deshaun Watson. The Texans will score points. The biggest knock against Miller comes in the form of one D’Onte Foreman. Foreman missed almost all of last season but there is a reason the team spent a 3rd round pick on the talented runner. The Texans also spent some draft capital on their offensive line to help open up some running lanes for whoever is running the ball.

If Miller can hold off Forman and continue to get the touches, you can expect solid RB2 numbers again. If Foreman starts to eat into those touches, this could be a changing of the guard at the position for the Texans. This has the feel of the dreaded committee. The offense should be good but I don’t know if they are good enough to support both runners for fantasy relevance.
