As the Cowboys’ offensive line goes, so goes the Dallas season. Where are they for 2022?
2 future Hall of Famers, a UDFA, a 4th rounder, and a 1st round rookie. These are the men that have to meld into a cohesive unit in 2022
RT Terence Steele
The UDFA was signed by Dallas in 2020. Shoved into the starting lineup he got abused early in his career. That’s not the case anymore as he has gained the strength and skills necessary to compete in the NFL
RG Zack Martin
The future Hall of Fame guard is one of the top five linemen in the NFL. He has no weakness in his game.Â
OC Tyler Biadisz
Experience and power were the weaknesses for Biadasz when he came into the league. No more. The question now is can he elevate his game above average?
LG Tyler Smith
The rookie LG is looked at as the missing link that has been holding the line back for years. Can he solidify the LG position or is he too undisciplined having a habit of drawing those pesky yellow flags?
LG Tyron Smith
Future Hall of Famer Tyron Smith has had trouble with injuries but there is no doubting his skills when he is on the field. He is healthy and looking again to be the anchor on the left side of the line.
RT2 Josh Ball
The 6’7″ Ball is a big man and considered a draft steal by many who view him as the future at either tackle position for the Cowboys. Time will tell. A few years at swing tackle could be just the ticket.
LT2 Matt Waletzko
The 6’8″ North Dakota LT needs coaching and time to work on his NFL strength. He will compete for the swing tackle job in 2022.
OC2 Matt Farniok
6’5″ the Sioux Falls product fell in the draft and the Cowboys were able to get him signed. He has the flexibility to play both guard spots and center
OC3 Alec Lindstrom
The Cowboys were able to sign Lindstrom after he (somehow) went undrafted. The Boston College OC is a competitive freak who gets by on his smarts and his motor. These guys jolt the camp competition!
I love the starters, I love the backups, I love the potential of both BUT, it has to gel. The veterans need to have a solid year and the young guys need to excel. That happens, it will be special. It doesn’t and it will be blamed on Dak. Such is life.
