Dallas Cowboys Weekly – OTAs

Say goodby to Rookie Minicamp. Say hello to the Dallas Cowboys OTAs It’s a fun time to be a member of Cowboys Nation. There really isn’t any bad news and the possibilities are all on the table right now. The future is tantalizing.

With OTA’s beginning, quite a few things were revealed for those observing. Dak looked good. Damontae Kazee was starting at FS seemingly recovered from his torn achilles, OTs La’el Collins and Tyron Smith looked fit. I mean really fit. Prescott was lamenting they looked the best he had ever seen them look.

Matt Farniak is getting an early look at backup OC and the back 7 defense is starting to show the rangy look/effect that Dan Quinn Ds are known for. Nice.

Another observation is how the Cowboys are approaching OTAs (with one less practice than the rest of the league) and comparing that to what the rest of the league is doing. Are the Cowboys sprinting towars the golden path while the rest of the league is walking or are they taking a detour down failure avenue?

Dallas Cowboys OTAs

Organized Team Activities (OTAs) are here. They are “voluntary” which means there will be a few players that miss as the NFLPA is reccomending players do just that, skil non-mandatory offseason activities. There were plenty of players on hand on the first day and plenty to see.

Dallas Cowboys OTAs Top 10 Observations – Mike Fisher

FRISCO – Almost all eyes were on QB Dak Prescott. But there were plenty of other storylines developing inside Ford Center here at The Star during Tuesday’s OTAs.

Yes, we start with the QB, back on the field after his 2020 season-ending ankle surgery. Said Prescott of his day: “I wouldn’t say necessarily limited. I would say, ‘cautious’ … (but) “I’m pretty much full-go.” – Click here for the full story

Cowboys Full Speed Ahead in OTAs – Tom Ryle

There has been a certain giddiness among Dallas Cowboys fans over the first pictures of a normal looking Dak Prescott taking reps during the initial session of OTAs. The team is working hard as they welcome back Prescott and other players coming off injury, and of course Dan Quinn and his assistants are busy installing a new defense. This is the way it is for teams all across the league.

Well, it used to be. Of course, last year’s OTAs and the rest of the offseason program were canceled during the growing pandemic. There were less injuries reported overall in the NFL last year, and that is being seen as one reason. Based on that, the NFLPA called for all voluntary activities to be canceled or boycotted. – Click here for the full story
