Today it's Cowboys vs Patriots in New England but to many across America, it's really Prescott vs Brady.
Dak Prescott has better stats. Tom Brady has those rings. It's Cowboys vs Patriots on the marquee but it will be the battle between the GOAT and the Elite-Door-Knocker that will determine the outcome. It's Prescott vs Brady! It's Cowboys vs Patriots Gameday! Let's break it down.
Cowboys vs Patriots
The Dallas Cowboys have their work cut out for them. They have the tools. They need to play a perfect game vs Bill Belichick. They have won big against losing teams and lost close games against winning teams. LVE is most likely out at LB and that will hurt but they are mostly healthy. It will all come down to performance on the field. It's a coaching thing.
The New England Patriots need to find their way back to excellence on both sides of the ball. Belichick will have them ready on defense. It's the offense that needs to start clicking again. The loss of the Gronk has been huge. Adapting is a Patriots' strength. The Dallas D is for real. So is the challenge.
Prescott vs Brady
Dak Prescott is having a hell of a season. There is talk of MVP and it has some legs. Dak at 10 games is 356/247, 67.7 %, 3,221 yards, 8.8 avg, 322.1 yards a game, 21 TD, 9 INT and 12 sacks with a 104.1 QBR. He also has 193 yards and 3 TD on the ground.
Tom Brady at 42 isn't chopped liver. He is 402/256, 63.7 %, 2,752 yards, 6.8 avg, 275.2 yards a game, 14 TD, 5 INT and 16 sacks with a 90.1 QBR. He has 2 yards on the ground BUT 3 TD. He is the GOAT you know. Don't ask.
Here is the thing. Both teams have run up big stats vs easy teams. Both QB's have struggles vs winning teams. You can NEVER count Brady out and they are playing in New England. Bill Belichick is their coach and that is just huge. Garrett has his back to the wall with his job on the line in the biggest matchup of his life. Brady has an injured elbow but is "playing anyhow" because he has disliked the Cowboys "since he was born." This is old school bulletin board material and I am really looking forward to how the Cowboys will respond on the field.
In close matchups, I put my money on the guy with the most to lose. Cowboys with the upset in New England.
