Fire Dave Gettleman now

The NY Giants and Dave Gettleman need to part ways right now.

The New York Giants must fire Dave Gettleman TODAY.

He has been at the helm of the franchise for 14 months and has done nothing but trade away good players. In the latest installment of “What dumb thing has Gettleman done today”, he has traded his best player, Odell Beckham Jr. to the Browns for a first and third round picks and SS Jabrill Peppers.

Not only is he their best player, yes, I know they have Saquon Barkley as well, but he has traded away their only pass catcher.

They failed to come to terms with their best defensive player in Landon Collins who entered free agency as a marquee player and has since joined the Redskins on a six-year deal worth $84 million.

After a 5-11 season in 2018, the Giants will receive the 6th overall pick in this years NFL Draft. If I was the GM, I would be taking Dwayne Haskins and letting him sit behind Eli Manning for a season before making him the full-time starter in 2020.

Before today, the team consisted of Saquon Barkley, Beckham, Sterling Shepard, Evan Engram, and Rhett Ellison. A good young core of players to build a team around. You now lose your best-attacking weapon and have an ailing QB with no one of note to throw to.

The last two days have been a rollercoaster for almost every NFL team, but what we have seen today from Gettleman is the dumbest move I’ve seen in a while.

Its time for Gettleman to be shown the door. The Giants need some stability and structure to what they are trying to achieve, instead of just letting Gettleman run the franchise into the ground.

This is not a good look for a team who finished bottom of a solid NFC East last season.

Fire Gettleman.
