DeAndre Baker
CB
Georgia
Class Year: Senior
Height – 5’11” Weight – 190 lbs
Combine Results:
40 Yard Dash – 4.52 seconds
Bench Press – 14 Reps (225 lbs)
Broad Jump – 118.0 Inches
Strengths:
Baker is a great NFL cornerback prospect. He grew year-on-year with Georgia and had a stellar senior season. His press technique is elite, route anticipation is excellent, and he is an extreme competitor. Whoever takes him in the draft will get a hard-hitting, heavy tacking, patient corner.
He has an incredible football IQ and surely turns into a regular NFL starter.
Weaknesses:
Not great off man coverage. He lacks a spring in his step and has poor long speed as well. I could beat him in a foot race over the distance.
There have been questions raised this offseason about his work ethic, coachability, and his want to compete in the Combine. He needs a good coach or mentor to work with him as he grows as a player. If not, we may not see him for long in the NFL.
Giphy:
Baker uses his hands well to stop an LSU touchdown
Pro Comparison:

Overall Review:
Late 2nd round early 3rd. Works best as a press/zone corner in a cover 2 system. Needs help to defend his man downfield. Needs to focus on football and give his all to the game.
